I’m getting married this year. Crazy. My goal is to be as healthy and as fit as my humanity will allow. If I happen to lose 1 or 2 pounds in the process–I won’t hate it– it’s just not the ‘wedding goal’.
Today’s breakfast: ‘The Mean Green Smoothie’ . In comparison to the GGS by Kimberly Snyder, it’s a breeze to drink. The orange juice covers up any of the ‘vegetable’ flavor you would get from the spinach and it blends up so smooth you would think you were drinking a thick juice.
Mean Green Smoothie
1 Ripe/spotty Banana (fresh or frozen)
1/2 Cup of Orange Juice
1 Tablespoon Ground Flax Seeds or Chia Seedss
1/2 cup of Almond Milk
2 Handlefulls of Spinach (I sometimes use arugula but if you don't like the peppery flavor stick with Spinach)
4 Ice Cubes
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.
You can add any of the following to boost the nutrition in this smoothie:
2 sticks of celery
1 tsp of spirulina or chlorella
a sprinkle of hemp seeds or chia seeds
